Sweetest Stranger Forever. (Part-III)

This part is about the gradual disconnection. The frequency of them talking was absolutely diminishing. Earlier they could not pass a single day without talking and now they talked every alternate day. She messaged him first and she either used to get a very late reply or no reply at all. Similar thing happened when they talked online. He said he was busy. But, he never really failed to text her 'Good Morning' every day. She woke up to his texts and probably because of that she did not mind texting him first most of the times. It was like a daily routine, but when she actually told him that she expected this much from him and he should text her every morning, the texts were no more regular. The one thing which had her hopes still alive was gone. On asking, he had some or the other excuses. These little problems brought about the ego issues. Every time she thought of starting the conversation first, she was flooded with many other thoughts, what if she's intruding into his life, what if she's being desperate, what if she's being boring or talkative. All these thoughts stormed her head and she used to give up. She only waited for him to remember her.
Things on his side were pretty normal. He did not face any of it may be because he never gave her a special place in his life or probably never loved her the way she did though he was expressive about loving her which actually made her believe that he loved her but then she knew all of it was light-hearted flirting. The only problem was she started taking it seriously when the light-hearted flirting continued for almost a year. He used to talk when he felt like. The talking every day routine was dead.
She pretended to be okay and he believed it, he talked for a bit and used to leave. And she kept wondering how things have changed and deep down inside she wanted the old charm back. She wanted to go on and on talking and smiling but he was not there.
As time passed by, they grew apart. Both of them were online but none started a conversation, they talked after weeks and they used to wrap up the conversation very soon. She kept thinking about him. She kept thinking about the old times when every thing was sweet and hassle-free. She chose to be bold. She decided not to cry over him. She decided to deal with it and forget him. It was painfully difficult. The more she tried to forget him, the more she thought about him. Forgetting him, she realized, was not really possible. She then decided to control her emotions and stop expecting and yes, it was working. She was pretty much able to do it. But then, she could never really resist herself from checking his profile on social networking websites incessantly.
One fine day, as usual, she was checking his updates, the past ones. She found out that he had been in a relationship with a girl before which he had never mentioned to her. It was a surprise for her considering that he told her everything. She was shocked but after musing over it for quite a while she realized that it was moronic of her to check the past updates. It was his past anyway and she had no concerns with his past.
She thought of not uttering a word about this when they talk and things went the usual way. Rare talking, a little glumness.
She was then added by another id of his. On asking, she was told that the earlier had some problem so he's using this one. And the conversations continued. She was getting used to not talking much with him. Sometimes, she used to get upset over the changed circumstances but then she managed. Also, she was not mad to talk with him anymore. She had perfectly prioritised things and she stopped ignoring everything else just to chat with him as she used to. She was gradually stepping into the reality and was handling herself well.
In this whole process of being sensible and practical, she decided to delete her fake id permanently. Suddenly, there was this string of curiosity in her mind to check if his new id has a profile or not. She had always found the new id a little fishy. She hit the search button and she did find a profile. She wished it shouldn't be him. But, God had other plans. It was him. This time, she was shocked out of her wits. All this while, the one thing she respected in him was his honesty for which she was honest to him later and now she found out that he had clearly lied. The profile was active. All the chats and his reasons as to why he could not chat and all of it stormed into her mind. She settled down and now she decided that she will happily never initiate a conversation with him. All the feelings were evaporated for a moment.
There she was, sullen and angry. She decided to end this whole thing which she had for over a year. She decided to treat him as just another person.

Peace.

Sweetest Stranger Forever. (Part-II)

Their chats were incessant. During the class(only if it was a less important one), during the break, while travelling. Days went by, he wanted to meet up. Of course, it was a 'No' from her side, she had not even given him her contact number with the thought that they won't chat perpetually. There will be some fortunate day when they will be done with this. That particular day was by no chance nearer though. But, as time passed, the chats did not seem to be in a flow as it did. They rather seemed to be monotonous, usual and sometimes boring. She, still, tried never missing a chance of exchanging few words with him.
It was his birthday! By that time, a very close friend and her sister knew about him. Her friend even had a little chat with him (6-7 lines) and her sister, after listening to the whole thing gave a 'wait and watch' calm expression which scared her. Well, it is pretty normal. A concerned sister will obviously find it a little disturbing if her little sister befriends an absolute stranger.Anyway, She wished to send him a song (which was sung by her), on his birthday, as a birthday present. That was the only thing she could gift him virtually. After a lot of thinking, she made up her mind that she won't be sending a song which is sung by her, to him, on his birthday, because that will be cheesy. Very cheesy. But, darn! She just couldn't resist, the thought of not giving him anythin on his special day didn't quite made feel right. As the clock struck 12:00a.m. She mailed the godamn song to him. He appreciated it though.(He had to.) The next day she had a chat with him and he seemed very down and out. She tried her level best to cheer him up, she was herself being unusually perky (using extra exclamation marks and giving him ideas on how can he celebrate his birthday) but it hardly made a difference. That was the last little chat they had.
A whole month passed by and he remained quiet and silent. She thought her offline messages would provoke him to speak up so she sent many of them but nothing really happened. And, she thought, how she had made a fool of herself. She missed him like a lot and she actually realized that to what extent she was into him. But then, she was mad at him and she was frustrated too and was desperately wanting to tell him that 'If you had to run away you could have informed and left instead of maintaining the annoying silence. Don't you have this much guts?' but her offline messages were polite. All she did was chuck him out of her friends' list on Facebook. But, she kept thinking about him.
One fine day, suddenly, out of nowhere, when she was online from her fake i.d, she gets a 'Hi!' from him. She was happy, angry and sad. Happy to see him after such a long time, angry at the thought of how that silly chap just disappeared and suddenly land up in front of her out of the blue saying a 'Hi!' and sad because she'll again get into this useless affair of talking to a complete stranger who is no more a stranger though. She wanted to run away believing that she's over him but she stayed and even replied to him. She inquired where he was and why did he disappear then she thought of leaving. Though she was not sleepy at all, but it was one reason for her to take a leave in front of him.
He started behaving in the same manner in which he behaved when they had their very first chat. He paid extra attention and was always trying to please and she did get pleased. And, the chats became frequent and lively and cheerful and the fun was back! By this time, two of her close friends got to know about him. And, she wondered how he kept on acquiring a special place in her life as it was HIM about whom she talked to her friends.
After the apology for his disappearing away and frequent chats, everything seemed to be normal. It was a usual day and she was chatting with him. He asked for her number(He had done it earlier too) and she didn't know what was going on in her mind then but after thinking for like some 50 seconds and after looking at her friend's face, she typed the godamn number and sent it to him. It was spontaneous. She was still for sometime, trying to figure out what exactly she had done. He was amazed too. (because earlier every time she refused to give him her number and was pretty determined to do that.) He had her number now. And, she kept on thinking about all the worst possibilities of revealing her number to a stranger. She was expecting a text, if not a call, from him. And, she did get a text after a day. And they exchanged some 7-8 texts and they were done.
After revealing her number and having normal chats, now, he had started becoming very busy, he slept early and he said just a 'hi' and left. She never really wanted a simple 'Hi', just for the sake of keeping in touch. It made her sad for he was not bothered. They exchanged Hi's and left and she never expressed her disapproval of him leaving for she wanted to see if he can make it out but, he couldn't, like everyone else. She regretted giving her number. As time passed by, the chats became least frequent and short. She wondered how he was free for hours when he chatted with her initially and how he is, now, very busy that she feels lucky to get a simple 'Hi' from him. He seems least affected and normal though. She blamed herself to take every thing way too seriously and ending up having thoughts of him. It had to get over now, she thought. And, it will. (hopefully)
She didn't like him, she just liked the way he lived and the way he reacted to whatever she said, thats what she believed. Love does not happen this way. He will be erased from her mind as time passes by, thats what she believed. But, this belief was not enough to change the truth, the fact.

Peace.

Sweetest Stranger Forever. (Part-I)

For her, it started with an interesting conversation. She was very much into the 'Virtual World'. Social networking had kind of become a necessity for her. But, she was trying hard to remove it from the list of her necessities and priorities of her life as well because it is always better to live in a 'Real World' than to live in a virtual one, as her sister said.
So, she met this guy online. Now, I'm not going to reveal the details of where did she meet him or how did she find him so on and so forth as it is supposed to be extremely confidential. They were absolute strangers. At least she was, to him. It was her fake identity. She used a fake one to talk to strangers because she was made well aware of the bitter consequences of revealing any kind of detail to a stranger. Many of you must be wondering as to why would she talk to a random stranger. If the stranger seems a little sensible then trust me it is wonderful to talk to him/her. You don't really need to worry about any hell thing, you can just talk your heart out without thinking what the stranger's going to think about you or if the stranger's going to judge you. You can just walk out once you are done with the talking and never see that stranger again.... in virtual world.
That one day, she considered him as a stranger whom she may never see again or chat with again. But, she was wrong. The conversation turned out to be exceedingly interesting and fun. And, she 'wished' to see him again. She chatted with him for hours and days with her fake id. If she did not come online for a particular span of time, she would see strings of offline messages sent by him and those messages surprisingly did leave a smile on her face.
Chatting with him became a habit for her. She almost started obsessing over this 'stranger'.
It got all serious when, one evening she felt guilty of showing someone else's profile as hers on Facebook to him and told him all rubbish, made-up stories so that he doesn't send any messages to that profile. And, it was a friend's profile. She believed that this act of hers was juvenile and foolish and nonsensical. She felt guilty because she had lied to him. Soon, she revealed the truth. She revealed her identity. She was herself stunned. She had never intended to do that even by mistake but, at that very moment, she did it, without any hesitation. Now, he partially knew who she was her name and how she looked basically. Then she was off to her hometown for few days. He was off to somewhere too for work. So, they planned to catch up online after some 10-12 days. And, he had warned her that she should not forget him, which was cute.
After a week or so, she randomly went online and found offline messages. Quite a lot of them. It was him and the messages said that he missed her, and his work has finished before time and he was back to Delhi and he misses the long chats and he really wants to chat with her so on and so forth.... She was happy. Very. Very happy! She replied to him and they did catch up online again. It was a long time after which they talked. She chatted with him from her phone (The smarter one which was gifted to her after passing 12th.) Despite of knowing the fact that the online chat would eat up all her balance, she did not care much. Talking to him was a priority, for her. And, it was a necessity. She chatted with him all the time during her stay in her home town. Her friends, relatives and parents even wondered and asked her why is she madly stuck to the phone. One of them also said if she has a boyfriend with whom she's talking to all the time. Things became serious. Everyone around her were annoyed for she was always looking at her phone and doing some crap with it. But, that wasn't enough to stop their chats. The next night she insisted on to sleep alone in the other room, the one without the Air Conditioner.(It was horribly hot in there.) And, that night they had the longest chat ever. Though she was sweating in the humid heat but she was blissful. It was that night when she revealed her full identity. He found her original account on Facebook. But, she did not add him then. They chatted from 11:00 p.m to 4:00 a.m probably. He did not sleep that night as he had to catch a train early in the morning, the next day. It was all about knowing each other a bit more and smiles and giggles. Sleeping was out of the question. She then believed that yes, she had started liking him.
As time went by, she allowed him to add her up on Facebook. When she came back to Delhi, she activated Free internet on her phone just so that she is always in touch with him. Her friends in college were gazing at her and were wondering if she had found a boyfriend or something. She even had his contact number but she dared not give him hers, although he had asked for it quite a lot of times. She was keen on taking things slow and he... he never really forced her probably that is one of the reasons why she started liking him. There they were, chatting the days and nights away!

Peace.
