5 ways to handle Inferiority Complex.

Have you ever felt ‘different’ to some set of people because they appeared superior or they talked intelligently or they were rich and classy? Have you ever felt a little hesitation when meeting new people because you think that you lack something and are scared of criticism?

These are all feelings of inferiority and when they take command over your life and makes you behave queerly or hesitatingly, that’s when you face inferiority complex.

Generally, the thought that you are an inferior to others pops up in your head maybe because you’re too skinny or you’re fat or you’re too short or you’re not doing well in your exams or you’re poor or you have some physical deformity or you’re always labelled with some bad adjectives by your peers or you haven’t been able to get over a past event or you’re not able to get into a relationship and the list can go really long.

Shunning away such thoughts and beliefs and uttering out loud that ‘I am not inferior to anyone’ will not really help. Had it been so simple then none of us would be haunted by these I-am-inferior thoughts.

Over the time, these thoughts of being inferior may clutter your mind which often leads to depression, shyness, hesitation and a downfall of self-confidence.

But then again, you can very easily get over all of it with the help of positivity, happiness and will-power. Below are the few basic things that you ought to keep in mind and follow to get over your inferiority complex.

What’s important is that none of us are born flawless. We all are an incredible mixture of qualities and flaws and that’s what makes us a normal being. Inferiority complex is the false belief that we create in our heads about ourselves. It’s how we view ourselves.

  1. So, it is very important to have a pleasant self-image which does not mean that you will overrate yourself and live in your own world of make-believe. It’s going to hurt you even more when you will get into the reality. So, be pragmatic and accept the way you are. You are simply you and that is what is special about you.
  2. Always try to improve yourself. By improving, I mean, to build your self-confidence and self-esteem, to stop being shy and over-conscious about what the others are thinking about you and so on. The more you will work towards your improvement, the more you will be environed with positivity. This very positivity will definitely inspire you to work harder. And you will soon find yourself improving.
  3. Never ever compare yourselves to anyone and everyone. People are of different kinds. The more you compare, the more you are going to feel miserable. Rather compare your present self with the past one and see if you have improved.
  4. Forget thinking about the negative things that may happen to you like “I don’t know if they’ll talk to me, I am so not up to their standards” or “I should leave, I look awful among these people” and so on. If you really start thinking negatively, there will be no end to it. Also, it makes you look nervous and strange as face is the index of mind. Just give a halt to all these thoughts and be free, you will feel much better
  5. The last and the crucial thing, try to avoid such people who discourage you or make you think negatively about yourself. With such people around, your mind will always be clogged with negativity and hesitation.

So, let go off all your inhibitions. You were created to be you and not what people want you to be. So, the next time you feel inferior, give yourself some time, think about all of this and feel good about yourself because you are unique and you are simply you!

Peace.

Frandship Day!

Well, all of my friends are abuzz with frandship messages and sayings and quotes and all. Few of them called me up at 12 yesterday night! I see Facebook overloading with oodles of love and affection for friends. Status updates, wall posts, pictures, notes and what not! Twitter's trending topic is #FrienshipDay. I have been getting incessant texts and mails from my friends, even those ones who hardly ever talk to me, which said how much they love me and care for me and they'll stand by me at every situation of my life and all.
Come to think of it, if you really had SO many friends who would be there for you, come what may. Then, your life would be so much better and hassle-free!
I, of course, love it, a day specially for the ones who you've shared some crazy moments with, but, with the real good friends, do we really need a day?! With the true friends, we don't really need a day to express our affection because we express it every single day, sometimes unknowingly.
But then, I won't spoil the fun. With such friends around who love celebrating friendship day, I can't help but celebrate it. So, yeah, Happy Friendship Day! And, keep the "fraandzz" away!

Peace.

Oh! So embarrassed.

In our lives, there always comes a moment when we’re oh! SO embarrassed. And later, we strongly feel that it shouldn’t have happened. But , if you come to think of it, these are the little things that makes life worth living by adding up a string of fun and laughter.
There’s this moment when you’re doing something ridiculously stupid or something crazy happened to you and you desperately pray no one should notice you and it is an out-and-out feeling and that very moment you catch someone noticing you and you feel like “Why do you have to freakin’ look at me when I don’t want you to?!”.
These oh! So embarrassing moments happen to you randomly, maybe when:

You trip on a perfectly plain surface while walking with someone.

Your crush looks at you when you’re taking a real HUGE bite of your burger.

You say Hi to someone and they don’t look at you, instead someone else does. Or someone smiles at you and you smile back, then you realize that they were smiling at someone else.

You fall off a chair because it is broken and you did not notice.

You end up dropping water on your pants at a public place.

You, accidentally, spit while talking to someone.

You get into the wrong sex's wash room in a hurry.

You drop food on your clothes in public and there your shirt looks beautiful with yellow stains all over.

You spill water all over the table at a restaurant.

You keep the wrong foot forward. Er, as in you step on poop and you're in deep shit.

You send a wrong text to the wrong person at the wrong time.

And, there are many more….
Sometimes, such funny situations are sure embarrassing and are unavoidable and you can’t help but bear them. So, why do it with a frown when you can laugh it off! The best and simple way to handle such a situation is to shrug off a never mind and giggle at yourself. The idea is to smile and forget it.
So, the next time when something of this sort happens to you, you know what to do!

Peace.

Ima show you, how great I am.

In a crowd of thousands, there I stood with the spotlights on me in front of the huge cynical crowd. I watched the other girls giving their introductions and getting booed even before finishing it. It was my turn, I stepped out, I spoke and they booed. But, this was not what I wanted to happen, so I stood there and told them about how well I can sing. Somebody shouted out loud to sing something for them so that they can boo some more. Now, that’s what I wanted to happen. I sang and they were quiet. All they could do, after I finished, was cheer and applaud.
Do what you want to do and do it with absolute confidence and not the world can stop you. Let the second thoughts disappear, let go off all the inhibitions because it’s about you and your worth. Even if you have to face the failure, do it because only then will you know the real taste of victory.

And, now I leave y'all with this immensely inspirational video.

Peace.

Boyfriend Blues.

She: Hi!
Me : Hey!
She: What's your name?
Me : I'm AB.
She: So, do you have a boyfriend?
Me : *making an awkward face* Um, er, no. I'm single.
She: Why?! You seem to be pretty smart!!
Me : Heh. (Er, what was THAT!) :/

This is a little conversation, I'll remember for life! It was my first day in college, seems like yesterday, I'm done with a year already! Time flies by, indeed. and I was flooded with the lovely question, "Do you have a boyfriend?". I was tired of saying 'No' to everyone and then I started saying 'I don't know'. Okay. Yes. I was pissed. And, well I sure did get weird looks. :D I mean what is so interesting about this question? Why would you ask someone this on the first day, when you know each other from past a minute? Of course, you won't befriend me if I have/don't have a boyfriend, I mean how does it even matter!
Back in school, my girlfriends and I were so much into the other things that we never got time to think about boyfriends. And now when I come to college, There's so much boyfriend gossip around that I got peeved. If you talk about your crush or boyfriend, you will be liked by everyone around.
It has been a year now, and all I've known is girls' one of the most interesting matter has to be boyfriend/crush/ex and they can talk about it incessantly.
  • Happily in a relationship.
These girls are madly, deeply and truly in love. All they can talk about is their boyfriend. What he does, eats, like, dislikes, talks about and so on. They don't care if you're bored to death or get the fact that your smile's fake and deep down inside you want to shut her up, they just go on and on about their guy. They can spend hours on phone and not know that you're with them and they should actually attend you.
  • In Like.
These girls have started liking someone. Someone they talk with everyday. At first, they would hide it then eventually they'll disclose about this whole like-a-guy thing. The initial stage would be all giggly and chirpy. They get excited when they receive a text or a call from the guy who is likely going to be their next boyfriend according to them. These girls won't ignore you, rather, they discuss each and every minute detail with each other from the conversations to what should they do next. Eventually, the guy stops talking and then comes the sad or vengeance or bold phase where they are either crying or is in a mood to make him jealous or will pretend to not care about him any more. But, they'll sometimes talk to you about how good it felt to talk and how things change i.e only if you're a good friend.
  • Broken-up.
Well, I don't really want to talk about this set of girls. They're just sad. Very sad. Every single thing will remind them of their ex.
Now, what I've seen is, having a boyfriend/girlfriend has become more of a trend or probably a cool quotient. Girls grab a guy or vice versa just to 'fit in' and boast. The ones who do not have a boyfriend/girlfriend often end up thinking that they are not worth anything and become depressed over such trivial an issue.
I totally agree that love cannot be imposed on anyone but most people force themselves into love just so they can show their friends that they do have a bf/gf and hence, they're cool.
So people, the world is beyond boyfriends and girlfriends. If you are not happy alone, you'll never be happy with anyone. Find happiness within yourself. Nobody completes you. You complete yourself. Stay happy. Keep smiling!

Peace.

Soul Sister.

Siblings, are the best part of our lives. And, am glad that I have one. An elder sister. Well, it will be unfair to call her just an elder sister for she is sometimes as sweet as a best friend, sometimes as insane as a little kid, as protective as a boyfriend or husband, as helpful as a mother and the list can go endless.
I've always heard stories of her feeding me or caring for me when I was little. And now, when I come to think of it, I feel very contented to have a sis like her. She has always stood by my side, helped me, she has a solution to almost every problem of mine. Be it academics, spat with a friend, heartbreaks or any hell thing. And, I find her the perfect being to discuss my problems with and I will admit that am very much dependent on her. She, on the other hand, has never really discussed much of her problems with me, maybe I wasn't the right person. She says I was too young to understand. But, I desperately wanted to know about her life, her dilemmas. I had also scrutinized all her diaries and her phone and what not, but I was unsuccessful. She is very secretive about her problems. She never really lets anyone see the agony or even a frown behind that angelic smile of hers.
Without her, I wouldn't have been able to pass 11th and 12th standard. Phew! She is the best teacher. I could never really digest the countless reactions in chemistry and the numerous theorems in physics and anything in maths. I still remember those all-night-long studying sessions, the last minute touch up and what not! I also remember that night when she had made me dance a day before my chemistry exam at 2:00 a.m because I was horribly nervous. Yes! She is that insane.
I hold her responsible for cultivating a taste in me for music and movies. She recommends the best. Also, I've always wanted to be like her when I was little. I did! She's just so good at almost everything. She has done well academically, she looks pretty, she has got so many friends, she drives (driving a car has been really tough for me. Hmph! Hopefully, I'll be good at it someday.), she's independent, she dances, she sings, she has also written poetry though it always remained beneath the sheets of paper. She is truly the best when it comes to shopping and I suck at shopping. I, generally, send her to shop for me because I detest shopping and find it boring and the clothes, shoes, accessories, bags or anything that she buys for me turns out to be the most fashionable and gets compliments.
It is close to impossible to cheer her up if you have, by any chance, offended her. Also, she doesn't apologize that easy. That one thing really bugs. Sisterhood is no fun without few fights and arguments. So, we do argue a lot! We have endless conversations. We have talked so many nights away whenever she was home for few days during her holidays.
It is her birthday on the 18th. And, this piece is dedicated to her. She's one of my favorite persons on earth. Happy silver Birthday! <3
Here's a surprise for you, sis! :P

Peace.

Unusual bliss.

Yes! Bliss. Unusual bliss. Saw a lot of it lately. It looks a little spooky. I wonder as to why, all of a sudden, everything appears perfect and agreeable. People around me are behaving exactly the way I want them to which is a matter of concern. My best friend displayed infinite affection towards me. I got good attention in excess from that one person. THAT was unusual. I had a decent conversation with a new friend. I haven't had any arguments with anyone around me lately, well, not till now. So, everything is unusually agreeable. And, I am contented but deep down under it haunts me. What if all of it does not remain the way they are? The feeling of being woeful will be a lot more tough and harsh than it actually is after experiencing such wonderful bliss.
But then, I believe in the Almighty. Why would he do that to me! On a positive note, I. Am. Exceedingly delighted. And, I do not want this to change. Not one bit.

Peace.

♥ Valentine's Day ♥ for Singles.

The most-awaited day, for all the ones in Love, has almost arrived. Feb 14, Valentine's Day! Immensely popular worldwide. It's a day to celebrate Love, though many people believe that there is no specific day to celebrate love. It is one day when couples indulge in spending time together and falling in love all over again. Valentine's Day is preceded by many other days like rose, propose, chocolate, teddy, promise, kiss and hug days. But, what's in store for Singles?!
Singles need not to worry or be depressed or crib about not having a boyfriend/girlfriend. It is, of course, NOT a compulsion to have a date on Valentine's Day. Many singles do feel lonely, seeing the lovey-dovey couples but hey! We, singles, can have as much fun as the couples do or may be more than that! So, this Valentine's stop being sad and be cheerful instead. Pamper and love yourself or have a good time with your loveliest friends and family. Go out, shop, eat and do everything which makes you happy.
Happy Valentine's Day!
"You do not need to be loved, not at the cost of yourself. The single relationship that is truly central and crucial in life is the relationship to the self. Of all the people you will know in a lifetime, you are the only one you will never lose."
-Jo Courdert.
